Checking the idle and gaming temperatures for Ryzen 9800X3D.
Good evening, everyone! I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this trend.
My Ryzen 9800X3D usually runs between 41-45°C in idle mode on my desktop, which is normal for this processor. But when gaming, the temps jump to 49-51°C, and even with full settings (no upscaling, everything at max), the CPU stays around -30°C using the MasterLiquid cooler.
I’m wondering if I’ve hit a good combination or if it’s just unusual.
Temperatures were verified by both adrenaline and hwinfo. Thanks!
Well, it varies by game. GPU-bound titles don't rely as much on the CPU, which means less strain on the processor and its cooling system, affecting heat output too. To check your cooling performance, download and run Blender bench at the provided link. If you see temperatures around 86.5°C during heavy rendering, your setup is normal. Higher temps suggest a problem with the chip or cooling.
Aida64 isn't going beyond 53c lol. That's pretty impressive. Idle won't drop below 45c, though. Thought with temperatures under load being so good, idle would be better.
Updated, it reached 56c after a while in Aida.
Test temperatures during the mid-session are recorded. Full details will be shared again later.
Full outcome for R23 multi-core. Temperatures stayed below 54c most of the time.
R23 performance data.
Here you are, testing during the mid-run, temperatures remain consistent.
