I'm facing an odd issue with my PC/game setup. When I launch GTA V and jump into the game, I consistently see 30 FPS, sometimes jumping to 60 FPS briefly (thanks to V-sync), but it often drops back down. After a few alt-tabs to the desktop, I get steady 60 FPS again. If I keep doing it, I notice slight stuttering or micro-stutters. This seems unusual and not typical. Have others experienced the same problem? Also, could you explain why using alt-tab might improve performance? Let me know your specs.

It usually begins in windowed mode for me, possibly linked to V-Sync. Consider using ALT+Enter to toggle between windowed, borderless, and fullscreen to check if the issue continues.

It might be related to the windowed borderless setting. Consider switching to fullscreen. Alternatively, it could stem from a driver problem—my friend and her partner have faced many issues with the newest Nvidia driver. Try restoring your driver.

You need to adjust a setting or Alt key to regain 60FPS, otherwise you'll experience stuttering and frame rates dropping to 30.

You're asking about what you're discussing. I use a borderless window, and it functions well regardless of settings. I've had an i7 and 780Ti; previously, a 560Ti was my machine, but tabbing didn't make a difference.

He mentioned the game would perform significantly better in full screen, offering a borderless experience and especially a windowed layout.

I have already enabled fullscreen and there are no problems with it launching in windowed or borderless mode.
