Each time I start the game, I have to switch tabs using alt-tab and then return. It works now, but it still bothers me a bit.

It varies, isn't it? We're discussing the FPS issue, right? The VSync system here only provides 2 FPS—like 30 or 60. If you're in the middle, you'll see around 30, sometimes a bit higher like 45-50. It's mostly determined by your position and view settings. If you're under 60 (even around 45), you'll still see 30 as the output. That's a big issue for me. I tend to prefer a bit of tearing over dropping below 45 FPS. That's why I said a better life.
