Checked the calculations for 9700X versus 9800X3D and 7800X3D. Mainly focused on gaming at 3440x1440 and 4K resolution.

Oh yeah, I've been reading things about that, is it still an ongoing issue or is it being resolved by AMD already? I'm not sure exactly what's going on and I'm gonna try to research on it a bit. But that said, the 7800x3d is completely unaffected by the 9800x3d problems is it? I'm actually considering the 7800x3d to save a $100. Also I didn't even know about 10800x3d is that confirmed coming soon?
It's tough to put into words, but it seems similar to a small issue when the lowest prices drop. I'm not quite sure what you're asking about. Regarding your PC build, I've been adjusting and replacing components over the years, including the case. I've assembled many machines for family, friends, and myself, but for my gaming setup I haven't completely rebuilt it from the ground up. My most recent upgrade was switching to a B650E-F motherboard with a Ryzen 7 9700X last month.
No, I haven't reinstalled or refreshed the windows after switching to AM5.
Absolutely, I always follow that routine each time I change the CPU, motherboard, and especially the main C: drive.
I appreciate the update on this discussion. I’m considering going for the 7800X3D instead of the 9800X3D mainly because the latter seems prohibitively costly at $480 plus taxes, especially when you factor in a lower base clock and boost speed. On the other hand, I could purchase a new 7800X3D for under $400. My original source for the $495 9800X3D has disappeared, now costing around $520 at Micro Center—about 100 miles away, which adds gas expenses. What do others think? Would the 9800X3D be worth an extra $120 compared to the 7800X3D when paired with an RTX 4090 and future 5090 models? I mainly play at resolutions like 3440x1440 and 3840x2160.
Oh crap I totally missed this post, yeah I want to get 9800X3D but with my current budget it's gonna be a real tight squeeze to get it.. The 9700X I have apparently can be sold at below $300 if I'm lucky since it's retailing for $310-330 new? So I managed to get that much then maybe I can shell out enough for 7800X3D, but probably not enough to 9800X3D. Would 7800X3D be a good enough upgrade from 9700X in my case?
