I've been looking for the optimal configuration (different cards throughout the game's duration of BF4), but now I'm just pushing everything to its limits. Often experimenting yields the best results.

Most aspects are fine except textures and mesh quality. If you manage to achieve AA, increase MSAA to twice the value. Keep the frame rate above 60 at 1440p, and the smaller terrain details help players see each other more clearly.

With a solid CPU, performance would consistently reach around 60 frames per second. I typically see about 90 fps in 1440p ultra using AA graphics.

I tried different Ultra, High & Medium presets without AA on a 64-player server. I stayed above 60 fps with V-sync enabled, and even during explosions. Without V-sync it reached the high 90s to 110 fps range—sometimes hitting the high 130s depending on settings. I’ll share my results with your input later.

The CPU is fine. You also have a GTX 980, which outperforms my R9 290. That explains the high frame rate.

I only experience dips during explosions or multiple explosions, and I’m always present when they happen. I can also run the game at 1080p without any issues. With a 7990 I had no dips even when using the 8350 and setting everything to maximum. It’s not the CPU problem.

The issue seems to be related to the CPU, even though you mentioned it isn't. It appears you're experiencing a bottleneck. Performance drops at higher resolutions aren't unusual if the CPU isn't powerful enough for intense demands. BF4 is designed well across various systems, and it performs reasonably compared to other titles when using the 8350.

Gpu performance stays consistently high, occasionally dropping to 99%. It seems unlikely to be a limitation unless viewed through the lens of typical CPU constraints.

You're checking if your CPU spikes briefly during those high frames and whether you're tracking it with tools that show trends or graphs.
