I don't open the task manager to check if CPU usage spikes during explosions. I use the in-game graph for BF4 that tracks CPU and GPU, and I have afterburner set up to monitor GPU usage, clock speed, memory, and temperature.

Task Manager isn't required; Afterburner displays detailed graphs for CPU usage. Verify the data, look for any increases.

When the fps goes from 60 to 59 or 58 there's a spike and the gpu usage drops to 99 - 98% and the Fps hasn't had any major dips yet. (As in low 40s or 50s)
