If I want to buy an AMD AM5, which one should I choose? Is AM5 better than AM4? What's the difference between Zen4 and Zen5? I think the i5-14400 is similar to Ryzen 7 7700. Here are links for CPUs.
You can see the relative performance of 8600G (8500G will be comparable with PBO) with 13th gen and 14th gen CPUs But to get that performance, you would have to run the CPUs at their unlocked performance state. This state might or might not cause instability problems in games. The Bartlett lake will release on the same LGA 1700 socket. So the B760 mobo listed above by @Why_Me will support the 15th gen CPU. As for GPU performance: AM5 for gaming is not a big hit. I would wait for the X3D chips for AM5. Zen 4 based 7800X3D is the best CPU for gaming right now.
^ does not list which PSU, mobo, SSD, RAM model is used in it. Might be a good deal, might also be a fire hazard.
This is now a tough decision between Intel and AMD for the CPU…
For the GPU, I’d pick the 4060 Ti or 4070, or go for something more powerful if I can find it.
I have 9 CPUs to choose from on AM5.
when you own someone or assemble a computer using your own parts and choices, the available options often lack strong motherboards and power supplies.
It's 510€ for 16gb, the 8gb versions are roughly 420-450€ here, the RX 6750 XT is about 440€ and 4070 is 620€ wow… I found a case, mouse, keyboard, PSU and would add a water cooler. I'll share links today or tomorrow. I have everything except the motherboard (since I'm thinking about Intel/AMD) and the GPU 😅😅
Will purchase one of these two watercoolers or if not, I'll go for an air cooler.
First one
Second one
What are your thoughts on this PSU? Or which one should I choose? Gold 80+? Msi? Modular?
Mobo, they're really expensive for the AM5, haha
Display
RAM would be 2x8 or 2x16
I only think about CPU and GPU so far
