Minecraft is the only game you can play. For a smoother experience, consider upgrading your hard drive to an SSD.

The laptop seems unsalvageable, yet the HP HD 16 with 2 x Dual Boost 8GB RAM and a GTX 9600 discrete GPU still holds potential.

Same idea as what you mentioned, just with a slightly weaker GPU. This laptop is 14 years old—it's more capable than the C655D but just too outdated to be useful anymore. What you're looking for should be something newer, around a decade or so. Do you have any laptops you already own, or are you searching for a replacement?

The AMD E2-240 struggled to handle Minecraft smoothly at 30 frames per second on a 640x480 resolution, especially considering the laptop was released ten years prior.

This setup would function well in Minecraft. Consider reducing the render distance for better performance. You might also want to purchase a Core 2 Quad q6600, available for $10 on eBay. With the right tape, you could potentially overclock it even if your hardware doesn’t support it natively.

This laptop model is essentially a desktop version, but with a 2-core processor paired with a 9600MHz RAM setup. Running modern Minecraft will be extremely challenging.

I need to know what specific tasks you're planning so I can recommend a suitable laptop. If you're just looking for something capable of handling light usage, a mid-range laptop should suffice. Let me know the details!
