Hello everyone, over the past week I've repeatedly seen a warning about my Windows license expiring. Even though I have Windows 10 Pro activated, the message keeps appearing. I'm using a KMS version on a second-hand laptop. I've tried various solutions but nothing seems to work. It seems the company behind this version requires contacting their server to keep it active. Should I try fixing it myself or should I just accept the pop-up and continue using the system? What will happen if the license actually expires soon?

I wasn't aware that Windows keys have expiration dates. I'd run a virus/malware check just to be safe.

The experience will gradually change as you continue using it. Features will start to disappear over time, and notifications will appear more often.

Purchase a Windows key or disc, or set up Linux.

You can try installing it and retain your files, or you’ll need a clean installation which means losing everything and you’ll have to back up your data.

In the activation area within Settings there is a button to modify the product key... You only need to click it, not to reinstall anything.

You might explore alternative methods such as the command prompt; see http://www.windowscentral.com/how-change...windows-10

Yes, you can obtain the product key without needing the DL version of Windows 10.
