I’m connecting via the USB port on the device.

The query mentions a 3.5mm, but the context remains unclear. Could you clarify what you're asking about?

It depends on the setup—whether you're connecting directly to a single port or using a speaker/mic splitter to distribute audio.

I need a splitter since my PC has split connections, but I’m using the one that came with my headset—the original one.

Are all connections properly placed in their ports? Did you adjust any unusual options in your audio manager?

I never adjusted those options and I verified all the ports. The only change I made was for sound enhancement, which is currently disabled, yet the problem persisted when it was enabled.

Are you looking for additional wired speakers? You might consider a Bluetooth speaker that includes an Aux input to check your motherboard’s audio output, then switch to wireless mode since Bluetooth relies on the device’s DAC rather than your PC. This could indicate a problem with the DAC on your motherboard.

I'm pretty sure I still have another headset nearby. My monitor can also handle audio via the HDMI or display port.

The HDMI output relies on the monitor's DAC, which may assist in identifying the problem. Try testing it to check if the issue persists when using the monitor as an output source.
