Currently, the 3600/x is the top choice, but for a 224-pound build once the market stabilizes, you might find a 5600/x offers significant performance gains—potentially even a 5600 if available. Regarding the motherboard, a B550 Tomahawk could be a solid option.

Extreme improvement in performance, right? Plus, the B550 Tomahawk isn't that expensive.

On PCpp it's 140 USD, quick calculations show it equals 105 GBP. Plus, it's quite expensive, while the 5600X outperforms the 10900K.

According to quick calculations, costs vary significantly across regions. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08B4V583Q The price increase from the 3600 isn't substantial enough to negate the gains from the 3600. While it might be quicker, it's not nearly 100 quid faster. Would choosing the 5600X over the 10900K make sense if you're doing multithreaded tasks?
