The starting configuration varies for the standard POST process. In 2017, using a Razer keyboard didn't work with the Asus B350 setup, so I had to purchase a very inexpensive USB keyboard instead. Once that was done, I could use my Razer keyboard normally and returned the cheaper keyboard afterward.
