I assembled my machine roughly a month ago and it generally functions well, though it occasionally powers off unexpectedly without warning. It only comes back on after I disconnect the power supply and discharge capacitors by pressing the power button. I've searched for solutions but encountered random shutdowns regardless of workload. I stress-tested it with AIDA64 for an hour and it passed. My configuration includes: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 @3.60GHz, Motherboard - ASRock B450 Steel Legend (BIOS v2.70), RAM - HyperX HX432C16P3K2/16 (2400MHz), GPU - Sapphire Radeon PULSE RX 5700 XT, PSU - Evga 750 G3, HDD - Samsung 970 EVO Plus (250GB), Case - SilentiumPC Signum SG1 TG.

Are there any flashing red signals when you switch it on, or does nothing happen?

It seems like a circuit or power problem. Inspect the connector and CPU contacts, and verify that the board isn't causing a short.

Have you checked the RAM in the additional two slots?

Consider testing one stick of RAM at a time. If the issue persists, switch to a different PCIe slot on the video card and continue testing. If the problem remains, it may indicate a motherboard issue (such as a 5x5 configuration) or a failing power supply unit. I think the PSU is likely the cause now.

Contrary to the manual, the initial two DIMMs should go into those slots first.

It would have been better to mention it happens rarely—just five times so far. I thought trying one stick with another GPU might help, though it could take a week before it crashes again. I suppose this is the only way to figure out why it’s happening. My old power supply is now in a different PC and is working perfectly.

I don't believe it's a power supply issue—I've replaced one and it continues to work well. My previous unit is now in another PC and functions perfectly. I've inspected the CPU pins and they look normal. I also reinstalled the motherboard, checked for physical contact, moved the case, rotated it while powered on, and tested pulling the PSU cables; none caused any shorts.

I’m sure it’s a power supply problem unless you’re using the correct electricity plug.
