I recently posted something about my situation. I reside in a second-floor apartment within a condo/townhome. My internet was stable until about eight months ago. I can access Discord, browse the web, and watch YouTube without issues. However, once I start using Steam or Battle.net, I keep getting logged in and out, sometimes showing no internet connection. My downstairs neighbors’ internet works perfectly, so they’ve been using theirs for gaming. I’ve checked my modem/router combo and logged in myself. There are roughly 10-12 devices connected via MoCA, but I can’t remove them. These belong to a neighbor about five doors down, and at one point they were connected until I blocked them and changed my Wi-Fi name and password. Could that be the cause? A cable technician is scheduled for the sixth time to hopefully clarify everything...

The interface on my modem is minimal (my ISP requires using their account info to log in) and displays only connected devices and their statuses. I’ve changed the Wi-Fi name and password, set up port forwarding, and reset it several times, but I’m still confused about the process.

I have access to simple Wi-Fi configurations, such as the name and password, the band selection, and a list of connected devices. I can also manage port forwarding settings. EDIT: My wife and I have tested both our computers, phones, smart TVs, and the PS4 on the network. It doesn’t perform well on the TV or with our phones. I’m considering parental controls for the family, possibly to restrict access to game servers. I’m not sure yet, but a MoCA filter might help. If that doesn’t work, I might need to purchase my own modem and router. I’ve tried everything else except that.

I’d likely remove MoCA and rely solely on Ethernet connections for your computer or game consoles, using WiFi only when necessary. It seems MoCA could be linked throughout the whole building. (It should stay active only if separate services like cable, phone, or power are isolated.) You can block the connection if you have Fiber or DSL by cutting off the outside coax entry from your unit. However, if it’s just a standard cable coming in from outside (like before any installation), it probably shouldn’t be used. If you’re sharing internet with someone else—such as connecting a router to theirs—you’ll have no control over this setup, and double router configurations rarely succeed because UPnP only opens ports on your own router, not the ISP’s provisioned one.

Occasionally it happens, and when I encountered an issue I checked the documentation which mentioned a general disconnection. Things used to be much more severe. I'm not using my PC ATM, but Battle.net presents more challenges, and the error message is just vague about server access or timeouts.
