Only DisplayPort supports 1440p at 144Hz. DVI-D and HDMI don’t work for that resolution.

I don’t understand the problem. I’ve tried all the advice and information I have, but I’m still stuck above 60 or 90 in some games. It’s not because my GPU isn’t powerful—I even lowered settings on 720p to check, but the performance stayed the same.

Turn off Vsync. Use fullscreen mode without window borders or borders. Disable any GPU software that might set a framerate target. Restore Nvidia control panel settings to their original state (factory reset). Skyrim remains capped at 60 Hz due to physics engine synchronization. This issue may not have a direct solution.
