I wasn't sure about spending too much during last summer's sale >___> 1. why the front panel? I thought it should restart immediately after shutdown. 2. I don't understand why the hybrid startup is an issue for me, but I'll give it a try.

Verify whether network-boot is enabled in your BIOS. It could also include a wake-up feature on the motherboard. The recommended fix is to shut off the PSU power switch.

It's not working and I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but from what I understand, it only functions with a local network.

With Intel Smart Connect and Wi-Fi active, it's highly likely the issue is present.

Wow, it seems to have become aware! On a serious level, I’ve dealt with my PC waking up after sleep cycles, but not from power-off. Not sure what that means yet…

Explore the details, locate the ERP Ready option and activate it.

I upgraded my operating system to version 8.1, but shutting it down normally still triggers a restart after about five minutes. However, using the command prompt with `shutdown -s -t xx` keeps it powered off.

Hey all, first timer here I have had this issue once before on a long gone rig, but never found out what it was. But it has just occured to me after reading this, that I may have overlooked the Wake on LAN and auto boot after power restored bios options. Now I can't check those now, but maybe if not WOL, you're getting minor power dips throughout the night? I know round here we used to get it frequently while a sub station was beiing rebuilt.
