Your computer is acting very poorly.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased an RX6800 from ASRock. When trying to play the new Spider-Man game at medium/high 1440p resolution, the frame rate fluctuated between 30 and 40 FPS, and the game became unstable, even crashing. I noticed issues with memory usage, similar problems occurred with the BF2042, and the performance was extremely poor. My CPU is an i5 9400, which isn’t the latest but isn’t that bad either. I have 8 GB of RAM, and I also tried playing Forza Horizon 5 at low settings and 1280x720 resolution, but it kept crashing as well. I checked my RAM and there were no errors, though I ordered another 8 GB recently. It’s unclear whether this extra RAM would help or worsen the situation. My PSU is 650W. I’ve reinstalled drivers, formatted the PC before installing the GPU, tried various drivers, but it’s still frustrating. The game has two years of warranty, so do you think I should bring it in for inspection?
Considering the GPU's VRAM health. Look for critical, warning, and error entries in the event viewer. Examine around crash moments for any error messages. Run GpuMemTest to assess VRAM status. Ensure two PCI-E cables connect directly to the card without using a splitter on one cable. Also, verify GPU temperatures if it's actively running.
For sure, the issue isn't due to 8 GB of RAM. I'll run a GPU memory test and share the findings.
