it’s unclear how this occurred or why I can’t access the command prompt anymore. now i rely on powershell for everything, which isn’t surprising. i’ve tried every virus scan available, checked hidden settings to see if it was disabled, and even then, when i open cmd it appears briefly before disappearing instantly. i don’t know what’s happening.

Great, I'll try it out and check the outcome.

If it fails, execute this command in PowerShell: sfc /scannow

I don’t believe there’s anything wrong, at least everything looks normal. I’m not sure about the virus worry, but I’m glad most programs are clean. I prefer PowerShell, though I wasn’t sure about the issue.

The system prompts a menu similar to the Command Prompt window, allowing you to open the command line interface.

Windows isn't locating the command prompt correctly. You're using the command instead of CMD, but it seems the shortcut doesn't appear properly. Try restarting your PC or checking if the command is spelled right.

Does the "cmd.exe" file exist in the c:\windows\system32 folder? What is its size?
