Open regedit, locate the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor folder. Ensure only four items appear there: CompletionChar, DefaultColor, EnableExtensions and PathCompletionChar. Remove any "autorun" key if present. Run AdwCleaner for further cleanup. Take screenshots of affected files to compare sizes.

Great news about the issue! The autorun feature was removed, which resolved the problem. Thanks for bringing it up!

Yes, but it could be malware or a virus, so try using AdwCleaner as well.

Thanks a lot for the support! I noticed my command prompt is glitching lately and isn’t launching properly. Your advice seems to help, too. No useful details found online, but I’m glad I’m not alone in this! Also, I’ve installed Bitdefender and haven’t ruled out malware as a possibility.

BitDefender is likely used by most users. Many virus creators still exist and they too rely on antivirus tools. AV software mainly aims to provide peace of mind.
