I can't display actual error messages during mounting, but I can describe what might occur. Mounting the drive locally and changing the owner could trigger permission errors or access issues depending on the system configuration.

unless the drive is secured, and if you run out of options a Linux live USB could possibly retrieve the information without facing access restrictions
