What? The corrupted partition wasn't the C drive. I only have clean, separate data from that partition.

Start the chkdsk scan immediately, and you may lose some files without realizing it until they become unavailable. Unless you provided a reference list of file hashes for comparison, we explained the process and how it could help restore your system.

Ensure you verify each file on that drive before proceeding, otherwise it won't be very useful.

Hey there, this joke’s about your Windows setup. It’s clearly not working right now. What do you think?

I just confirmed it was the metadata that got damaged, and most of the data remained intact. Thanks for your assistance in identifying the issue.

Most users don't use damaged Windows versions.

Only when you open the hood and experiment without full understanding. If you follow instructions from the internet without knowing, things will fail. The person who keeps messing with Linux is the one who breaks it. Changing settings to improve Windows performance usually leads to more issues. Trying to fix problems by tweaking more parts or swapping system files from unofficial sources will only make things worse. Those who think they know enough to cause trouble are often the ones doing it. (I've been there too. The key is learning on simple systems where mistakes aren't permanent.)
