However, the hottest core was running 17–20°F hotter than the coldest. I reduced it to 4.4GHz and used it for three to four months before my new Mugan 5 arrived. That’s when I realized I could achieve direct die cooling again, but noticed similar issues on the 3770K in one spot. Could enabling PLL overvoltage be causing this? The main change between the 4.2GHz and 4.5GHz was adjusting the ASUS P8Z68 Pro/Gen3 settings.
I've been away from pinout diagrams lately. I did some work with the socket 940 pin (server, not AM2) for that extra v-core. According to what I read, VSS is a ground. The other two are a bit unclear, but I think I can figure them out now. My vision isn't great right now, but it's helping! 😅

all the components are present, I checked to make sure they stayed in place. I saw another drawing indicating two pins are connected to BCLK. It’s unclear whether the PLD overvoltage adjustment affects BCLK timing.
