I own an A320M asrock board with a Ryzen 3 1200. I'm thinking about upgrading the CPU but need guidance. I just want to keep gaming at a midrange level without problems with swapping. It's not a major upgrade, just a bit better performance. I haven't tried any games yet, but I'd like some advice. Thanks!
I checked the A320M on the ASROC site and it looks compatible with Ryzen 3000 series chips (likely with a BIOS update). Please verify yourself, as I’m not entirely confident about the exact board. It’s best to stay under 3600 MHz; I wouldn’t recommend anything above that since I don’t know how the board would handle the larger CPUs. A new motherboard could cost around $300–350, plus you’d need a new graphics card if you want one.
I'm doing fine right now. This sounds like a solid plan. I never realized I was missing this opportunity. I might have missed out on additional upgrades. Perhaps I'll also get some extra cooling fans. While playing games, my CPU can spike to around 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
