I've checked with CPU-Z to locate my card, but it only shows R7 200.

For R7 260X or 265 models, performance isn't too bad, but with R7 240 it's a different story.

Check GPU-Z for shader count. Install M-SPI Afterburner via settings → user interface, then select the "default msi afterburner v3 skin" option.

Technically because it's an R 7 model, it likely falls between the R5 240 and R7 260X. Anything above 260X probably reaches R9. Still needs refinement since the R7 260X should suffice for 1080p. Edit: The 265 might also be an R7. R9 begins around 270.

HD 7770 offers solid performance; you can run GTA V at reasonable settings.

itll performs adequately since the game doesn’t strain the GPU, even on low-end models achieving solid FPS. The main constraint is VRAM; with a 1GB card you’ll face challenges, but adjustments in settings can help, and upgrading later is an option if needed. Your card is a half R9-270X model.

I suggest getting the one that runs smoothly without CPU bottlenecks.

what kind of power supply do you have available (you'll need to check inside the pc) and what budget are you considering? an r9-280x or r9-290 would be ideal since they offer a lot of ram, though i've tested it on an r9-270 with double the card. at 1080p high settings it ran smoothly and looked good. if you're planning to play gta5, it might be worth getting one now while you save up—adjusting the settings lets you tweak performance. i plan to test an r9-270 soon where you can use half the specs or simulate a 7770/r7-250x by slowing down. i'm also open to using a stock fx6 and can suggest settings based on your rig.
