Yes, many feel anxious before playing. It's normal to have some nerves.

I’m the only one who feels uneasy in just one game, and it’s not Minecraft. It’s been around since 2010, and even now it still makes me tense during multiplayer PvP. Nothing in my life has ever caused more anxiety than Minecraft PvP. It’s not that intense, but I get so shaky I can’t play. I work hard to be perfect, yet I’m still not the best. No other game gives me the same reaction. I think I’m different because of how I play. If I weren’t so nervous, I might have quit by 2011 (this game is more intense than my life). And if I lost, nothing would happen—just silence and no items taken.
I discovered Minecraft PvP to be one of the worst experiences a video game could offer in terms of quality... Still, I felt a bit anxious when starting competitive matches, but that faded quickly. If you’re willing to risk something—whether it’s in-game assets or just wanting to be the top player—being nervous is probably normal.
You're having trouble on KitPvP, especially when you lose items—it seems the game isn't as solid as it used to be.
That's the essence of PvP. If everyone had top-tier gear but couldn't defeat them, the armor would lose its value. PvP is awesome, and it will stay that way as long as you don’t know how to play. And yes, my heart can get really excited in certain moments.
