That's actually a good thing, you can get more than twice as much ddr3 than ddr4 for the same price

Yes, it works well with an 1888Hz RAM. Having a 2400Hz option is nice, and the RAM I’ve seen on other systems uses DDR4. It doesn’t really affect me since I mainly stream content.
