I doubt a 1600 would cost that much. Would you prefer a 2600, an 1600AF, or perhaps an i5 9th-gen or newer in used condition for $150?

I wouldn't exceed $80 on that CPU, which is quite reasonable. It's four years old and originally cost around $200. An i5 10400 offers much better performance while matching the price. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k9ChW3 For serious gamers, this is the way to go. If you absolutely need six cores, consider a refurbished AMD model.
