I've checked my usage patterns recently, and everything seems balanced—disks remain near 0%, CPU averages around 50%, GPU around 30%, RAM at 50%. No obvious bottlenecks detected. The individual CPU threads stay within a reasonable range of 30% to 50%.

I’m running low on inspiration. Here’s a link to some guidance: https://support.rockstargames.com/articl...erformance

Check if a single thread test consistently indicates the same issue. Windows appears to switch threads across cores, suggesting the CPU or RAM might be the bottleneck. The CPU isn’t exceptional, and RAM performance is likely the cause. Verify if your RAM uses dual-channel operation—use CPU-Z to confirm the channel number. Consider running a benchmark that evaluates GPU limitations, similar to Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

During tests I run, the CPU hits full capacity. MSI CPU-Z shows my RAM is single-channel, which seems problematic. I downloaded a SOTR demo from Steam and ran the benchmark. With the high setting, I got about 62 FPS, indicating roughly 11% GPU usage. That suggests the CPU might be too slow for the GPU.

You only have one 2133MHz RAM stick and it doesn’t support XMP profiles. I’ve confirmed you don’t have the shopping list, but I know you own those parts: CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard. I’m using a HDD for games, and since usage is low, it shouldn’t be an issue. Upgrading the RAM seems like a better option than upgrading the CPU right now. Thanks for your advice!

the issue arises when ram operates on a single channel, causing a 30-40% reduction in cpu performance

You might consider boosting your RAM speed for some improvement, though a decently quick setup would likely be more effective. Alternatively, look for an affordable yet reasonably fast upgrade kit if budget allows.
