I believe it varies based on the adapter you have; it needs USB OTG functionality on the device. This could be handled within the USB adapter or the network card. If neither option works, the phone will remain in USB client mode. I’m not entirely confident that all current phones support OTG either, though it’s becoming more widespread than before.

It functions properly. I just switched on the Ethernet and everything is working well.
