You likely need a different adapter—probably for USB-C instead of USB-A—to connect your phone via Ethernet. The existing adapter won’t work directly.

Yes, it functions as expected in theory. So far, I've only encountered RJ45 connections to Micro USB.

It should function properly as long as the device recognizes the connection. Using adapters from USB A to C is affordable and often helpful.

Maybe I don’t get the reasoning, but it seems pretty rough. You might want to consider a laptop dock. Samsung DeX can be interesting in a small way.

Standard USB-A devices often need a USB-A to USB-OTG adapter. A USB-C device might handle this automatically.

I believe you meant it for online use, not phone calls. Initially, I assumed you were interested in VOIP, but if the Wi-Fi is unreliable, you might need a wired connection.
