I know the B450 Tomahawk has only two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots plus one PCIe 2.0 x16, and the 2700X offers 16 GPU lanes. I’m having trouble finding solutions as SLI usage in games is declining. Could I run into issues with PCIe, power delivery, or performance bottlenecks when pairing a second card on my B450 Tomahawk with the 2700X?
PCIe design doesn't support SLI, since those connections in the lower port come from the chipset. However, it still allows dualcard setups.
Consider updating your motherboard to X470/X570 and look for a model with dual PCIe ports for graphics. Ensure both slots are available to support x8 lanes simultaneously.
