I also had another thread that got a bit off track here, so I’m focusing now on it. Borderlands 2 is lagging quite a lot lately. People keep saying my graphics card should work fine, but I suspect a CPU issue. Everything seems maxed out—FXAA disabled, ambient occlusion off, physics at medium, bloom turned off. I’m using 1080p and the frame rate drops from around 200 to about 30. My GTX 980 Ti paired with an i5-4460 and 8GB RAM is struggling.
Adjust the settings to a lower level so it doesn’t affect performance. If the issue persists, another factor might be responsible. physX can be quite demanding in this game, even with 980 handling it well.
Ensure physx is configured to use your GPU, not CPU. You can adjust this settings in the Nvidia Control panel. I’m unsure what changes they made to physx, but I used to run it smoothly on a 680 when I first played. On my 970, it simply won’t work at all.
