I found a Vengeance LPX model, likely rated for 3000Mhz CL16. I tested it and observed speeds ranging from 14-17-15-30 trc 52 trfc at 3126Mhz. The last two settings and some sub timings didn’t work well. Interestingly, when I adjusted the BIOS to CL13, it booted but always displayed CL14 in any check program. It seems the system behaved differently at lower frequencies.

Turn off the gear-down setting in the BIOS to enable unusual latency behavior. On my Asus board, this option appears in the timing menu, near the bottom of the sub-timings section.

Really, thanks. I think I’ll revisit this memory tomorrow. It might just be why I couldn’t handle the second timing after the change. No matter what I did, altering the 17 made everything unstable.

You really should. But buy the expensive kits. Here: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/168/1...GB-(2x8GB) That's the kit from the screen shot.^^ The kit in my 8700K rig do CL 14-14-14 at 4000mhz. Never mind the mem voltage I used though. I don't want people frying their hardware and come back blaming me. I take extra precautions when beating on hardware.

I understand, you might want to verify the BIOS settings. The RAM specifications are either 1.36 or 1.37 v. Make sure to check the SoC voltage as well. The processor is a Ryzen 5 2600 running at 4.1 GHz.

Twice the price of my current setup is fine, just keep it in mind. I prepare carefully, adjusting currents very slightly and avoiding excessive values—particularly for RAM. It would be great to explore memory overclocking and do it properly.

Based on what I remember, you can boost performance at around 3200MHz. Keep the speed between 1.40 and 1.4250v. Avoid going over 1.45v without fans cooling the drives. Listen for confirmation. Use HWinfo64 to check your temperature sensors if available. Otherwise, always keep them cool. Aim for a pattern like 16-16-16-16-36-66 at 1T TRFC. I’m not sure if you need to adjust anything since the current settings seem fine. SOC voltage is set to 1.1v and should stay above 1.08v when monitored. Once stable, raise the speed to 3266MHz and test. Just monitor closely. Gaming performance tends to be best with consistent 16s at moderate power.
