X570 Aorus Master or Crosshair Hero VIII for the 3900X?
It's completely fine to invest over $500 in a motherboard and still cut back on memory costs by $50.
So, 480 isnt a lot of money for a 570 board, but 500 is? (While a separate wifi card could be approx $20 as well). Anything above 300 wont bring you anything if not oc-ing (as if 3000 series would oc much anyway). Im smelling that "B" from 550.
I notice these two boards share many features but diverge in key areas. The main distinction lies in PCIe versions—X570 uses PCIe Gen 4 while B550 supports Gen 3. This affects performance and compatibility with newer hardware. Additionally, X570 includes a dedicated CPU chipset uplink, which B550 lacks. In practical terms, the Gen 4 upgrade brings better bandwidth and efficiency, making it more suitable for modern workloads.
They work fine at 3200, okay. The issue is spending too much in the wrong areas.
You focus because it matters. The changes are minimal, but they count.
The new 2x8GB kit at 3600MHz should work fine with the 3200MHz system, but you should use the same memory speed.
