The AMD and Intel models you’re referring to differ in their packaging, but the differences are mainly cosmetic. The extra "6t" in AMD’s 6c 6t likely relates to a different packaging style or minor design tweaks, while Intel’s 6ct 12t is standard. For your i5 10400f, the 6c 12t still delivers the same performance as the 6ct 12t you own. As for overclocking, the "F" in i5 10400f probably indicates it’s not officially supported for overclocking, so you can’t push it beyond stock settings.

The 3500 model is 6C/6T, and the 10400F is 6C/12T. The 'F' indicates it lacks an integrated GPU, allowing only K Intel CPUs for overclocking.

Absolutely, the F series is designed without an integrated GPU. Considering Intel’s additional 6 threads, they remain fairly balanced. The extra thread count doesn’t translate into a clear speed boost because the workloads don’t fully utilize it, leading to minimal performance gains.

F indicates it lacks an integrated GPU, similar to the ryzens. The 10400f offers more threads, the Ryzen 5 3500 is significantly more affordable (limited to parts of Asia), and provides stronger all-core boost plus better single-thread performance. It can also be overclocked, whereas the 10400f isn't.
