It varies based on how the game is optimized. Still, GTA V performs worse than my GTX 1060 with 3GB of RAM. I’m not sure if GTA relies more on CPU or GPU power.

Ensure your motherboard's BIOS is updated prior to installing the new CPU. You likely won't need to upgrade the motherboard itself.

I run terminal version 4 on a device linked to a 1 4terminal setup. It’s just my old TV, fan, and router.

Earlier, I followed the same approach on my previous rig prior to upgrading. Now, with the printer, everything runs much more smoothly. Ryzen 5 2600 paired with GTX 1060 3GB.

I'm not an electrician, but I understand how the fire marshal reacts when we make mistakes, especially with a two-prong setup lacking grounding. Your computer issues seem more connected to this than your hardware. It's likely that a less efficient power system won't perform as well as a toaster or other appliances. If your electrical setup is safe and standard, the 1060 to 2060 models probably aren't a big deal. Even at full power, my 1.36V 8700K and +50% vega64 only manage about 620W across the entire strip, including monitors.

I've already increased the GPU's fan speed to maximum, and it performs better now. However, is it safe to keep it at full speed continuously?

Configure your RAM speed to 2933mhz at 1.35v and allow the system to determine optimal timings. Expect better performance until reaching the memory controller limits, ensuring stability. Exceeding 2933mhz may cause instability, but it can boost frame rates significantly. Optimize the CPU clock—starting at 3.9ghz with all cores in turbo mode at 1.375v should work well. If stable results appear (passing Cinebench and Firestrike), gradually increase to higher frequencies like 4.0ghz or beyond. (Note: These are the settings my chip uses for consistent performance.) If unsure, try adjusting manually; otherwise, consider hardware replacement if needed. Keep an eye on temperatures—stock coolers might limit you at 4.0ghz.)
