Witcher 3
Witcher 3
It's an amazing game that makes me question every minute I've ever spent in any other open-world RPG. One of the best games of any genre that I've played in years.
I've played close to 100 hours already. already wrapped up the main story but i still have quests to do. bear in mind that i played witcher 2 prior as for the video i agree that often the controls are pretty clunky (died so many times trying to descend ledges...). but i suddenly got used to it and honestly it didn't irritate me as much as that guy in the video. funny enough cd red is preparing to release patch 1.07 and one of the fixes include an alternative movement for geralt, which i assume to be faster and more responsive, plus fixes to the inventory and a bunch of other things. seriously cd red knows their community and to push out fixes and even free dlc every week they're at least doing something right, and i commend them considering the fiasco with arkham knight. if they have a donate option I would donate without hesitation i think everyone who's playing this game should go for broken bones or death march difficulty. its much more enjoyable that way. any lower than that and it's too easy, unless you want to rush. but why rush this beautiful game? though i have to admit that once you reach higher levels it becomes a little too easy since the game doesn't scale awfully well. but i still come across enemies that are pretty difficult to handle, especially in hordes. as for graphics it should have looked exactly like their earlier trailers but it's still a beautiful game. there were some textures that were pretty gnarly but this game is pretty huge so i'm not complaining. i'm still struck with awe every time i walk through novigrad. they really made this city lively. and i don't understand why that youtuber's complaining about the loading. i mean, there are no loading screens when you enter any interior space, which is quite something since a lot of interiors in this game are pretty detailed and whatnot. considering that fact of course it needs to load when you fast-travel to skellige or velen. because apart from fast-traveling to sign posts there's minimal loading. though i'm seeing problems with level of detail and hopefully cd red is aware of it. as for the quests they're very, very good. they're not run-of-the-mill or generic. sure some of them kinda are but the majority of them are engaging and i enjoy doing every single one of them. especially the bloody baron's questline. absolutely magnificent example there. there are a couple of quests that i'm disappointed about but i won't name them. if you ask me if it's worth the 60 bucks, i would say yes without a doubt. i am a little biased i admit since i've played witcher 2 and i really liked that game but witcher 3 by itself it's worth the full retail price. heck i wouldn't buy it on sale - just buy it full price. sure this game has its flaws but every game does. honestly the pros far outweigh the cons here. once the modkit comes out i think most of the issues would be ironed out
It's not about how much variety or visual appeal it has compared to other open-world games, but rather how fully they've developed every aspect of the experience. You often encounter the same bandit camp repeatedly, yet each one usually has a distinct backstory. The game doesn't focus on you personally; instead, it offers a realistic environment that makes exploration more engaging. While I agree with your perspective, I believe the depth of detail and the meaningful interactions are what truly stand out.
I don't understand the complaints at all. What does he mean by dodging to random spots? I used keyboard, dodging, and rolling works well—just combine camera view and WASD. In the original Skyrim, melee combat was mainly about blocking and using attacks, not complex combos.
I just completed my initial run yesterday following 110 hours of playtime. A few glitches appeared occasionally, and the controls felt a bit awkward, but I managed to adapt quickly. I think the game is likely one of the best I've ever experienced. The first two Witcher titles were solid, but this one elevates the series to an entirely new standard.
Some random youtuber with no knowledge of the Witcher lore has negative remarks and people supposed to take it as gospel? I mean he couldn't even get the early story right. Ciri is not the niece of "one of Geralt's witcher buddy's". That "youtuber's" attention span didn't last past the prologue. In, the prologue, Ciri greets "Uncle Vesemir" and that's when this guy retired his brain cells, less than 10% into the game. Here is a review from someone that actually played the game before forming his opinion:
7/10...Disappointing once more after the buzz. It's a solid game but didn't live up to the hype. The plot runs about 50 hours while there are roughly 150 hours of material, mainly due to the heavy travel requirements. At level 25 and higher...fighting becomes useless if you don't keep up with your upgrades. You won't even need to engage in battles to succeed.lol...
