Hey there, I've been thinking a lot about Witcher 3 lately. After playing for a while, my thoughts match what many share: what do you think?

Played it for a few hours on my friend's PS4. The game was entertaining, the combat was okay but somewhat uninspired. Visually it had decent quality, though textures were sometimes lacking and frame rates fluctuated. Still, it felt pretty solid for the platform. It was enjoyable overall, though I wouldn't call it a Skyrim expansion.

Keeping going anyway. I began speeding up the story since I worry I won’t wrap it up in two months.

It's a more relaxed experience in my view. I'm taking my time to fully enjoy everything, as that's what I prefer. It often means giving up quick moves for a longer session, which works well for me. Once you move past the initial white orchard area, it really shifts to an open world and things get more dynamic. Spend at least six hours or so to form your opinion.

I'm don't have time to watch a 16 minute video but the game is great. It looks fantastic, plays well, story is amazing, the only problem is I get distracted playing Gwent all the time.

It was a thoughtful present. Almost every problem was covered. I’d play again if I had 11 out of 10 chances.

The remarks about the battle are quite off-topic: it’s actually quite complex, genuinely intense combat differs, yet how could such a person even compare it to Skyrim where everything was basically meaningless and you just kept attacking until you were gone?

I really enjoyed it. Coming from Witcher 2, it offered a richer and broader story than its predecessor. At first it felt quite flat but it gradually picks up pace. The highlight is how distinct it is from any open-world experience I've played before—exploring the world reveals unique elements beyond just typical bandit encampments. Its stunning visuals make you want to immerse yourself completely, especially during downtime. There are numerous activities and side quests that keep things fresh. The combat is also a big plus, with both ranged and melee options that are engaging. I chose the swordsman path and thoroughly enjoyed using potions in battle, something you can finally consume during fights unlike in the previous game. The only drawback is that some models and textures look quite poor in cutscenes, and the difficulty level feels much higher than even the second hardest in the series—possibly because I'm more experienced now. Overall, it isn't as captivating as the second entry, but it has its own charm.
