It's okay to give it a shot! However, the automatic installer won't locate the model number in its .inf file. The typical solution is to pull out the installer files manually for a hands-on setup. Then, in Device Manager or the automatic installation window, select "Browse my computer for drivers" and point it to the extracted files.

Didn’t succeed, nor through the Supermium browser that came with the installation. Before using the Supermium browser, I restored the earlier Epson Printer/Scanner from the installation disc, and during setup I had to link to the Epson server to obtain drivers—this was done smoothly via Firefox without problems. A pop-up said Installation complete, but when I clicked the printer icon on my PC it still couldn’t locate the device. The Supermium browser worked fine and seems to function properly. The new Epson printer remains uninstalled.

Word 2000 compatibility with Wine

Linux drivers for XP-2205

The executable will connect directly to the server without a browser, meaning you must also update Windows XP's root certificates on the system for the drivers to function properly, rather than relying solely on a browser with updated certificates.

During the setup of the old printers installation disc, a window appeared in the Firefox Browser showing four files that needed to be installed. When choosing each file, a pop-up appeared offering an option to run them, which would operate only after connecting to the internet.
