It’s an Epson XP 2205 All in one Printer and scanner.
I don’t really rely on a Windows PC for browsing the internet anymore, as I acquired an iPhone in 2012.
Even though the browser is Firefox, the latest version that works with WinXP, I currently use it by typing website addresses into the address bar.
I applied it on Win7 without any problems.
You should also refresh the XP root certificates (no prior knowledge).

The reason I provided was based on the information found at the specified link.
As recommended, if you can steer clear of XP, do so at all expense. Unless there are particular applications that require it. Numerous complimentary Linux distributions are available to consider: LinuxMint, LMDE6, Kubuntu, FreeXP/Free10 from XPQ4, and others.
It might be about Epson and avoiding or stopping connections; however, if that’s the case, then Epson shouldn’t list Windows XP as a required system, which I verified before buying, not realizing the driver wouldn’t come on a disc. The printer I bought previously came with installation discs that included the drivers.
Without the printer setup, I wouldn’t have any motivation to connect to the internet through the Windows XP computer.
I rely on the PC for Word 2000 and other software that was purchased directly, which remains useful but isn’t updated enough to justify a subscription.
My online browsing mainly happens on the iPhone using 5G mobile data.
Thank you for all the ideas about alternatives to Windows XP—I’ll definitely consider them.
For now, I’d prefer trying to install the printer/scanner on the Windows XP machine.
It's a Europe-focused model released in 2022, likely using a Universal Print Driver that hasn't been available for download via WindowsUpdate since 2019 when the Microsoft Update Catalog was discontinued for XP. No "Product Setup" version exists for Vista, and the first consumer OS with one is Windows 7. A version for Windows Server 2003 is available, sharing code with XP, but you might need to adjust the CSDVersion in the registry to make the driver appear as a newer XP release. The Product Setup also indicates internet access is required. Word 2000 functions properly in Wine on Linux, though Access has issues. Interestingly, XP-2205 appears to list downloadable options for Linux, including specific drivers for Epson printers.
The Epson printer/scanner was recently purchased. Although it is the same model as the previous one, apart from the model number and ink cartridges, it is identical in all other aspects; this one was likely bought around 2021 or 2022 along with an installation disc. Could I use that installation disc from the old printer to install the new one?
