The claim about Microsoft not backing older versions is only partially accurate. They do maintain support for previous releases until official news is released. Many IT professionals will delay upgrading to the newest major updates for at least a year. You should feel secure using version 1909 until around 2021. Since I don<|pad|>, I’m not a gamer, so I can’t discuss your second point. However, it seems unlikely games would crash on 1909 as long as drivers stay current. Stick with 1909 now and you’re safe. Your risk of encountering problems with 2004 is higher than any issues you might face with 1909.

That's correct, but Version 1909 was required by Microsoft at the time. They issued a notice in Windows Update when I was using Version 1904, warning that my system would soon no longer receive support. Games such as GTA wouldn't launch at all, and even after reaching out to GTA Support, they insisted I keep my Windows updated. Personally, I'll continue using Version 1909 until that warning appears, since everything functions properly. Thanks.

You'll receive full gaming assistance. You'll miss certain... capabilities, like the newest DirectX12 functions (likely not until the next Xbox launch or at least until then), and other enhancements that could influence gaming speed, such as hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. This feature is a toggle for the upcoming May update, and the GPU driver must back it in.
