In my situation, Windows crashed during an update... Hope it works out. Another option is to get the ISO file (for another computer) and use Rufus (a USB flash tool) to create the bootable drive yourself. Keep in mind that your motherboard might be using UEFI or older BIOS, and you should check whether GPT or MBR is required. Also, you may need to turn off Secure Boot in certain cases.
I needed to reinstall Windows. The hard drive I had running Windows was damaged. I plan to fix it later, since it was my smaller drive and it wasn’t a major issue. Right now I’m using my better 1TB drive and I’m installing everything again—so many Steam games!
