Hello everyone, in a recent tutorial I discovered that Windows typically needs about 2 GB of RAM when idle, even though my laptop runs at 4 GB. It seems like the issue might not be the HDD speed after all, but rather another limitation. With only 8 GB of memory in total and single-channel memory, it could be affecting performance. Can anyone suggest a way to free up some of that space? Thanks in advance!

The background processes consume no more than 500MB combined, so... not sure

It seems like Edge is responding slightly, but opening a few tabs might be the cause.

Are you certain? Did you pause it for a while so it can complete the setup, then look for Windows updates, restart it, and let it finish installing, followed by another restart? Right after the installation, there’s a lot happening in the background.

This solution worked well for me. It should assist others too—thanks!

Sure, it's been a few days since the reset, but everything looks good now. Thanks!
