I’m not sure wether this forum belongs in storage drives or Os, either way, I’m asking for help. I’ve been going back and forth on many forums and websites and I still can’t get windows 10 pro booted off of my M.2 (Samsung 970 Evo 500gb) What I’ve done so far is: Set the drive to GPT, and installed windows on it. Set Bios in UEFI, it can see the drive in the m.2 slot, but I can’t change boot options to boot from that drive. I’ve tried MBR installation +Legacy also, no luck. I’ve turned off CSM, secure boot on/off, no luck, I can boot my UEFI usb installer. Ive also tried to install and boot off of my Samsung 870 1TB and I have the same issue. I can boot from my old HDD but it’s very old and slow so I’m trying to do a fresh install of windows 10 pro. While in windows 10 home on my HDD I do have access to the SSDs and they work just fine. Im currently waiting for MSI support to respond my support ticket, but they’re taking ages and I’ve been struggling with this for days. This is the 2nd forum, the original is in storage drive forums. What I have come up with as possible problems: -Bios is corrupted -Both SSDs are broken/corrupted/faulty -Graphics card possibly doesn’t support UEFI -Boot partition isn’t installing along with other partitions during installation -Idk brain dead Specs MB: MSI B450 Bazooka Max WiFi CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x GPU: Radeon RX 570 8GB RAM: 32 GB Hyper X 2x16 + 32 GB Trident Z RGB 2x16

Reviewed the motherboard manual; it doesn’t mention NVMe support, though it might still work in the worst scenario.

Notice that without NVMe support on the motherboard, Windows won’t start properly on your Samsung 860 TB SSD.

It doesn’t power on from the SATA disk either? Remove the CMOS battery.

I also tried that. It erased everything, so I reinstalled Windows from scratch. When it started, it launched to the USB installer, even though the SSD was set as the top priority boot option.

After installation, simply disconnect the USB and follow the on-screen instructions in the menu to boot from another drive or key.

Using a flash USB for Windows now shows your M.2 device. In older BIOS settings it’s labeled as “legacy+UEFI,” but the system still won’t start.

I experienced the same issue recently—downloaded a Win10 ISO, created a bootable USB using Rufus version 2.18 or earlier, and set the BIOS mode during installation.
