Not sure what to choose for your build—I’m familiar with Windows 7 but thinking about upgrading to something like Windows 8.1 or newer. Hardware specs: Intel i5, LGA1150, Gigabyte Z97 Mini, MSI GTX960, 4GB RAM, Kingston HyperX 3K 90GB SSD for OS and apps. PS. Need suggestions for a solid HDD to add more storage?
All hard drives function quite similarly, so choose from a trusted manufacturer. There’s no need to hesitate about using Windows 10. @ LeoDiaz
it's an i5 processor with the socket you have. Depending on the specific i5 model, you might need a different type of motherboard—like a H or B series. The 3804gb is superior to the 960 because it helps achieve higher FPS, while the 960 offers more stable performance. Also, a 90GB SSD is fine; SSDs come in various capacities like 60GB, 120GB, 240GB, etc., and 1TB is even larger.
Western Digital performs well. Caviar blue probably fits your project nicely.
The start menu hasn’t performed as well anymore. Pick the one that’s the most affordable among Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.
I5-4590 CPU. Not sure, I went with the 960. Need something good for gaming but also capable for CAD work. Yeah, 90GB SSDs are available. I’ll check which operating system is more affordable.
Obtain an H series motherboard. If you lack a K series CPU, you won’t require the overclocking features a Z series offers. Using the savings, purchase a 120GB SSD.
