It has occurred twice now that I can verify. The first time was during initial installation, and I assumed Windows would automatically detect the SSD and skip defragmentation. However, it did anyway. I adjusted the settings to prevent Windows from defragmenting it, but it still did so recently. Why does Windows attempt defragmentation even when I tell it not to?

Windows 8 and later disable it automatically, so you probably use Windows 7—when solid-state drives weren’t widespread. Disable automatic defragmentation in the Defragmenting window.

I'm sorry to hear that. You set up automatic defragmentation once a week for your two HDDs but turned it off for the SSD. I've updated your settings accordingly.

Maybe IonBasa can assist you. It’s unclear why Windows would be cleaning your SSD unless you adjusted the settings. By default, it shouldn’t defragment. Which SSD are you talking about?

It's not doing a defrag, it's running system maintenance. The "defragging" tool appears with both SSDs and HDDs. Observe how the SSD areas don't mention fragmentation. Also, after launching the program on my SSD, it issued a Trim command.

It seems you're curious about the system maintenance process and its appearance. The visual changes might look like a defragmentation, but they actually indicate the system is optimizing storage or cleaning up files. Let me know if you'd like further clarification!
