We're not stuck in the past—your operating system understands SSDs and will function optimally for that equipment. Just let it run its course :-)

It only executes a trim command, not real defragmentation. It simply marks the locations of files so Windows can retrieve them more quickly later. You're free to let Windows handle the rest.

Well then, I believe the issue is that Windows might not identify it as an SSD due to that. I’m only aware that it supports Trim in Windows 7 and newer versions, so it’s worth trying.
