I'm working on fixing your setup issue. You're trying to run Windows 98 on an old laptop, but you're facing problems during installation. The process seems to stall after choosing your region and naming the PC, then you encounter a blue screen. The disk partitioning issue is also causing trouble—your C drive shows as unknown, and you can't format it properly. It might help to try installing Linux first, then proceed with partitioning. This could simplify things and avoid some of the complications you're encountering.

No, I don<|pad|>'s picture isn't available. Your CD appears to be in decent condition.

Blue screen refers to the typical blue error message. The issue is a fatal exception 0E at line 0028. A Microsoft support page exists but isn't helpful.

Sometimes you might have to steal a CD, especially if yours is damaged.

The help is a bit uncertain (I was seeing 600 FPS in one of my games instead of the usual 30).

I verified for issues with Windows 98's testing utility prior to installation, and no errors appeared. The system was using Ubuntu before attempting the 98 install, suggesting RAM might not be the problem.

Have you explored running a Linux distribution alongside Linux Wine? Drakan might be able to do that.
