Thanks for the responses. This Windows isn't even recognizing the actual hardware speed. What type of operating system is this?

It depends on what the system displays. If the OS doesn't show your hardware temperatures, it might not be considered fully operational.

Task manager displays the precise (more) CPU speed. It’s logical to see the real CPU speed in Task Manager rather than in System Properties. No issues with Windows showing "View basic information about your computer" at the top of the System Properties window. Nice!

I'm not criticizing Windows at all. I'm just getting familiar with Linux as well, and it seems to feel more like an operating system than Windows does. For me, Windows works through a graphical interface similar to DOS.
