Hello. My machine is clocked at 4.5ghz, but it doesn’t detect the OC where a friend uses the same CPU with a Gigabyte Z97 HD3. Their system displays around 3.50ghz to 4.20ghz. My setup shows 3.50ghz as well. This means Windows isn’t recognizing me as running on that specific configuration, which could affect game recognition and performance. CPU-Z is showing the correct settings, but Windows isn’t picking it up.

I've experienced this several times; it seems the update isn't consistently accurate. I checked with CPU-Z to verify.

This interface will display only the manufacturer names for your parts. Turbo boosts or modifications won't appear there. Consider using monitoring software such as CPU-Z, HWiNFO, OpenHardwareMonitor or HWmonitor.

The speed won't be displayed automatically. You can adjust it yourself using the registry. I switched from a C2D to an i7 2600K back then, and my friend thought I was joking—now he understands!

It's messy when I work on my laptop at school. I plan to switch it to a 486SX running at 20MHz.

Just messing around with the IT team. Even if I don’t believe my account has enough rights to modify the registry.
